Naicam’s history

Collection

Naicam's story begins in 1904, when Hans Alpha, an immigrant from Norway, built the first homestead on the site of the present town. He was among the area's earliest settlers, who were mostly of Scandinavian ancestry. In 1909 Alpha sold his property to Ingeborg Knutson, and she in turn sold the land to the Canadian Pacific Railway for a townsite.
